Important Information About Online and Virtual Consultation

Virtual Consultation Is a Preliminary Assessment

A Virtual Consultation is not a definitive diagnosis.

Reviewing photographs, radiographs, CBCT images, DICOM files, previous dental records or information provided remotely cannot substitute for a complete in-person clinical examination.

Before definitive treatment, the treating dentist may need to perform or obtain:

  • clinical examination;
  • intraoral examination;
  • periodontal evaluation;
  • occlusal evaluation;
  • palpation or functional examination;
  • updated radiographs;
  • CBCT imaging;
  • intraoral scanning;
  • clinical photographs;
  • medical evaluation;
  • laboratory testing when indicated;
  • consultation with another specialist.

CBCT and Diagnostic Imaging

For dental implant treatment, full-arch rehabilitation, significant bone defects, zygomatic implant evaluation, sinus-related procedures, anatomical risk assessment and other advanced procedures, three-dimensional imaging such as CBCT may be necessary to establish an appropriate diagnosis or surgical plan.

Photographs or two-dimensional radiographs alone may not adequately demonstrate:

  • bone volume;
  • bone quality;
  • maxillary sinus anatomy;
  • mandibular canal position;
  • anatomical limitations;
  • pathology;
  • other factors relevant to treatment.

Preliminary Treatment Plans May Change

Any preliminary recommendation concerning:

  • dental implants;
  • number of implants;
  • All-on-4;
  • All-on-6;
  • zygomatic implants;
  • bone regeneration;
  • sinus augmentation;
  • prosthetic design;
  • extractions;
  • treatment duration;
  • cost estimate;

communicated before the definitive evaluation may change following clinical examination and complete diagnostic assessment.

No Guarantee of Treatment Outcome

Dentistry and oral surgery involve biological variation and individual patient factors.

No:

  • website statement;
  • Virtual Consultation;
  • testimonial;
  • clinical case;
  • photograph;
  • before-and-after image;
  • preliminary estimate;
  • treatment example;

constitutes a guarantee of a specific clinical result.

Doctor-Patient Relationship

Submitting a Virtual Consultation does not, by itself, establish a definitive diagnosis or obligate Ramos Dental to provide a particular treatment.

A formal clinical relationship and definitive treatment plan require appropriate professional evaluation, acceptance of the patient for care and completion of applicable clinical documentation and informed-consent processes.

Emergency Care

The Virtual Consultation is not intended to diagnose or treat medical emergencies.

Patients experiencing potentially urgent symptoms should seek immediate assessment from an appropriate healthcare professional or emergency service in their current location.
